和游戏一样分为两部分的《EF》系列作品，游戏分为《ef - the first tale. 》和《ef - the latter tale.》两个部分，而它的动画版也如游戏一样由两部分组成。继去年八月播出的《ef - a tale of memories》之后，第二部tv动画命名为《ef - a tale of melodies》。
